Facebook to Put an End to its Cheapest VR Headset Oculus Go

After two years of successful business, Facebook has announced to put an end to its cheapest Virtual Reality (VR) wireless headset, Oculus Go. The device was launched by the social media giant back in 2017. The device gained rapid popularity because of its lowest pricing and upgraded functionality. At the time of its launch, the Oculus Go was considered the best alternative for Samsung Gear VR. Facebook said the headset would no longer be available after this year.

The company has guaranteed that the software for the device would be available for the consumers. However, the Oculus Store of the company would not accept any applications or updates for the device. And after 18 December, no new application will be added to the store. Bugs fixation and drive security will be available until 2022.

The decision taken by the company is a clear indication that it honors the feedback of the customers. Since Oculus VR comes with a three-degree movement, the demand for Quest, which has a six-degree movement, is always high. This made the company decide that the freedom of movement will be the future of virtual reality Bluetooth headsets.
