Fake Mi Bluetooth Headsets Production Ring Cracked

The legal department of Xiaomi, one of the largest smartphone and accessories manufacturer in China, has announced that it has cracked a ring of illegal Bluetooth headsets manufacturers. The criminal ring was involved in the manufacturing and sales of headsets under the name of Xiaomi.

 

The team from Xiaomi has revealed that they received multiple reports in March against the fake Bluetooth headsets of Mi being delivered to the market. The criminal ring was operating through an online shopping platform and had sold a large number of headsets to the customer with the name of Mi. After receiving multiple reports, the company started an investigation of the matter and found that an illegal ring is involved in the manufacturing and selling of Mi headsets in the market. The legal department of the company traced the illegal ring in Guangdong Province in April.

 

The illegal ring took advantage of the increased market value and demand of Mi headsets. The reports of fake accessories, especially headsets, were in the air for quite some time. The reports were coming not only from China but India also where the brand has become popular in a short time. It is appropriate to mention here that in December 2019, fake Mi products were confiscated in Delhi that was worth over USD18,000.

 

The legal department of Xiaomi also disclosed that when they cracked the ring by attacking their production unit Guangdong Province, some of the fake accessories were produced fully while the other was in the production phase. More than one thousand of fake Mi Bluetooth devices that were packed in the fake boxes that look similar to Xiaomi’s original packaging were confiscated. The company is also preparing to pursue legal action against the culprits.
