The Remarkable History of Poly Headsets
From Plantronics to Poly, their remarkable history is enough to make them award-winning in terms of reliability and excellence. In the 1960s, the need for lightweight headsets alternative to the impractical big and heavyweight headphones, born Plantronics in 1961.
The focus was to invent a collection of headsets that offer ease of use and hands-free technology for the aviation market. Before this, the airline industry had serious problems with uncomfortable headsets.
The First Headset That Visited the Moon

With the evolution of headsets, the workplace has also evolved from the year 1960 to today. In 1970, it introduced an over-the-ear headset named StarSet. In 1975, Quick Disconnect (QD) technology was introduced, and NASA used these headsets in their shuttle program 1980.
